Animated Typography - WATER
This project is inspired by water and features two typefaces: FILL and FLOW. FILL captures the calm and structured nature of water contained within a vessel, defined by clear boundaries and a sense of stillness. In contrast, FLOW embodies the fluid, free-flowing movement of a stream, evoking a sense of lightness and effortless motion.
While these two typefaces convey distinct emotions, they share common characteristics that reflect the essence of water. Together, they offer viewers a dynamic visual experience, simultaneously showcasing water’s graceful fluidity and serene beauty.
Storyboard
I mainly aim to dynamically showcase the fluidity of the
FILL and FLOW typefaces,
highlighting their distinct characteristics—one being
calm and the other airy. I incorporated water droplets
and turbulence effects into
the animation to emphasize
the movement of water while also reflecting the unique
traits of the typefaces.
Sketch
In the early stages of
designing the typefaces,
I created numerous sketches.
I wanted FILL and FLOW
to have distinct charact-
eristics while sharing the
fluid qualities of water.
Alphabet - FLOW
The FLOW typeface represents the boundless movement
of water, like a stream—full
of energy and an airy,
flowing sensation.
Alphabet - FILL
The FILL typeface represents the calmness of water in a container, with clear boundaries. However, through dynamic shapes, the fluidity of water can still be perceived.Video
